Sponsorships

The Australian Fencing Federation

Invites you to Sponsor the

Australian Fencing Team

The Australian Fencing Federation invites you and/or your business to participate in supporting the Australian Fencing Team to attend major International Events.

Fencing is an Olympic sport contested by both men and women, young and old. It consists of three distinct disciplines, each involving a specific weapon: foil, epeé, and sabre. The AFF High Performance Program supports the Australian Fencing Team in Mens and Womens Epee, Foil, and Sabre.

Fencing is both fast and furious, involving cunning and precision. It is entertaining to watch and always exciting.

Fencing utilises electric circuitry in the scoring of “hits” that register on an electronic scoreboard visible to the viewing public. The target area on each fencer as well as the weapon itself forms part of the electric circuit.  The raised metal platform upon which the bout is conducted is called a ‘pisté’, completing the electronic circuit.

The sport of Fencing receives very little in the way of Government funding and the capacity of our athletes to compete in overseas events is highly dependent upon the generosity of both individuals and businesses alike.

Your contribution will be greatly valued and used to ensure our fencers can attend these exciting competitions and to nurture within our fencers the sense of reward and achievement that comes from representing Australia in an international competition.  For an example of one our AFT athletes, see this link.

The cost to be met by each athlete on the HPP is estimated to be over $5,000 per year.
